ATTENTION BASEBALL/SOFTBALL PARENTS: Ellinwood is having a spring sports parent meeting on Thursday February 24, at 6:30 PM. Please try to be there. There will be a home boys sub-state basketball game in Stafford that night at 7 PM so if you have a boy playing basketball who is interested in also playing baseball you may want to make plans to have someone who is going to the baseball meeting take notes for you.

Last night at the game, our #ZeroReasonsWhy student group hosted a "yellow out" and set up a table to raise awareness of youth suicide and spread information and resources to the community.
They did a great job of leading our guest activity: "There are #ZeroReasonsWhy you can't talk about mental health but MANY reasons to smile. What's one of yours?" Responses included family, friends, pets, basketball, Jesus, and more!
Thank you to all who came and participated and thank you to our student ambassadors that helped prepare for the event. An even bigger thank you to Jessica Schrag, Madilyn Hearn, Abby Kirkpatrick, and Sam Lowther for working the table and leading our guest activity!

Some of our 8th graders read a book they wrote about wants and needs to Mrs. Meyer's 2nd grade class today. The 8th graders really appreciated how respectful and courteous the 2nd graders were. They really enjoyed the experience.

Hello everyone,
Our student-led #ZeroReasonsWhy suicide prevention group has decided to have a "yellow out" at the home basketball game against Cunningham on Tuesday, Feb. 15th (also senior night). Please help our students raise awareness of youth suicide and support our student group in their prevention efforts by dressing in as much yellow apparel as you can!
In addition to the "yellow out", we hope to have a table set up with information and resources, a guest activity, and freebies! The cheerleaders will also be tossing out some free yellow #ZRW t-shirts - you don't want to miss out!

February is Career and Technical Education Month®, which celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across Kansas while providing those programs an opportunity to demonstrate how CTE makes students college and career ready and prepares them for high-demand career fields.
CTE plays a significant role in preventing students from dropping out of school and provides a wide variety of opportunities for postsecondary success and employment. Students who are involved in CTE have a higher graduation rate and see higher earnings, per the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).
Here at Stafford, we currently offer 11 Pathways of study for students to choose from. For next fall, we are adding the Programming and Software Development Pathway along with the Business Finance Pathway to continue to broaden opportunities available to our students.
This month we will feature various activities going on in our high school in our CTE programs. Stay tuned as we celebrate today and prepare our students to own tomorrow!

Tomorrow's HS games at South Barber have been postponed until Monday, February 14.
