Dear Families,
We want to make you aware of a dangerous new internet/ social media trend that has unfortunately started appearing in K-12 schools.
The trend, known as the #ChromebookChallenge, involves students deliberately damaging their school-issued laptops or Chromebooks. Specifically, students are inserting objects such as mechanical pencil lead refills or pieces of metal into the charging ports or puncturing the batteries in an attempt to short-circuit the device. This can cause the laptops to smoke, catch fire, or even explode, posing serious safety risks.
Videos circulating online show how this is done, encouraging students to try it themselves. We cannot stress enough how dangerous this behavior is, not only for the student involved but for everyone around them.
Please note:
Any student found participating in this behavior will be charged for the full cost of a new device due to the malicious destruction of district property. They will also face disciplinary action, which may include out-of-school suspension.
Going forward, any faulty computers will be inspected for signs of this type of damage. If it is determined that a device was intentionally damaged, appropriate charges and disciplinary measures will be applied.
This is not just about damage to technology—it presents a significant fire and explosion risk to our entire school community.
We ask for your help in speaking with your child about the seriousness of this trend and the severe consequences of participating in it. Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your building principal.
On Tuesday, May 13th the 8th grade science class will participate in the 4th Annual Cardboard Boat Races. The races will take place at 1:00 P.M. at the Stafford City Pool. Everyone is welcome to attend and come down to cheer on the 8th graders as they put their engineering skills to the test!
(Date & time can be subject to change due to weather and updates will be posted in advance if there is a change)

2nd graders were tasked with designing any character they wanted; unbeknownst to them, the 8th grade chose their designs without looking at who created them. The 8th graders were tasked with using their sewing skills to develop stuffed creations from those designs. Today, the 8th grade met with the 2nd grade class to present their artworks. 2nd graders get to keep their creations.

Hang on to those 4-H projects! Enter them in the Stafford County Fair! Here's how:

Congratulations to Brock Downing and Cody Knoche - they earned their ServSafe Food Manager Certification - they are the first two students in the history of the Culinary Arts Program to earn this advanced food safety certification. Great job Seniors!

📚🌼 Time to Round Up Those Library Books! 🌼📚
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As we get ready to wrap up a wonderful year of reading, it’s time to start collecting all school library books. Please help your child look around the house, under beds, in backpacks, or anywhere books like to hide and return them to the library.
📅 All library books are due by Friday, May 9th.
💰 If a book is lost or damaged, please reach out or send in the fine so we can replace it for future readers.
Your help ensures our library stays full of great books for next year’s students to enjoy. Thank you for supporting your child’s love of reading!
Happy Reading,
📖❤️
