Enrollment information:
PK-12 Enrollment for Stafford Schools
Wednesday, August 3rd Noon – 7:00 p.m. or
Thursday, August 4th 8:00 a.m. – 12:00p.m. in Trojan Hall.
New students may call the office at 234-5255 Elementary or
234-5248 MS/HS after August 1st for more information. Proof of
identity is required in the form of an official birth certificate.
Students who have had immunizations this summer should bring
documentation to enrollment to update their health files. Entering
kindergartners’ physical forms should be turned in at enrollment also.
Students should pay fees at the time of enrollment.


STAFFORD SCHOOLS RECEIVES TWO 21ST CCLC GRANTS TO CONTINUE THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
The STARS After School Program for grades K-5, the SMS Zone After School Program for grades 6-8, and the SHS Trojan Cave After School Program for grades 9-12 will continue serving students in the USD 349. In addition, summer programming will continue to be funded through these grants. Summer programming will be held three weeks after school is dismissed in May. The first day for all three after school programs will be Monday, August 22, 2022. The programs will meet every full day of school from 3:15 until 5:30 pm except when parent/teacher conferences or other special events are held. Students in the after school programs will have an opportunity for homework assistance, a healthy snack, free play outside and age-level activities designed to enhance their reading and math skills through hands-on learning. Enrichment activities such as art and crafts, cooking and gardening are also planned. As part of the grant, fees will be charged for STARS After School of $15 per month for full pay families and $10 for free or reduced pay families. Scholarships are available to families upon request. SMS Zone & SHS Trojan Cave for middle and high school will offer students homework assistance, tutoring, a healthy snack and activities that are designed by the students. Some of these activities include art, theatre, technology, cooking, archery, and exploring careers. SMS & SHS Zone are free programs for students in grades 6-8 & 9-12. .
The after school program is entering the sixteenth year of operation for the elementary and middle school programs. This is the fifth year for the high school program. Two 21st CCLC grant applications were submitted in March and went through a highly competitive process with applications being submitted throughout the state. Only 18 grants were accepted with Stafford Schools receiving two of them.

Summer weights is winding down. For the rest of the summer session, weights will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The last day of the summer session is August 4.


There will be no weights this Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The federal government allowed schools to offer free meals to all students during the pandemic, but Congress did not extend these benefit for the 2022-2023 school year. Families that are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals must apply to receive them, and all other students must pay full price for their meals. There will be hard copies of the meal applications available during enrollment or you may fill it out the online application at https://schoolmealsapp.ksde.org/Home/welcome/D0349

Attention all Stafford 349 students and parents:
As of the July 11, 2022 board of education meeting, the beginning of school start date for students is going to be August 17, 2022. We look forward to seeing you.

Attention for student's taking driver's education: Class begins in St. John on Monday. The bus will be at Stafford Schools at 7:30 each morning next week to take students. The bus will bring students back after 5:00. Remember - students will need to make plans for lunch or participate in the summer lunch program at St. John.
