Stafford High School Culinary Arts students toured the Stafford County Flour Mill this morning. This is the first opportunity to tour the facility since their expansion and remodeling project. Students learned about the history of the mill and how the flour is milled and packaged. Students also learned about the many diverse job opportunities the company offers. The Stafford Culinary Arts Program is grateful for the support of the mill and is proud to exclusively use Hudson Cream Flour in our baking endeavors. Check out their website here: https://www.hudsoncream.com/ to learn about the history of the mill, their special milling process, and see the products they offer.

What a perfect day to bake a little bread! This week, several classes were preparing various types of bread. Baking & Pastries students are learning about Enriched Yeast Breads and prepared several different types of Challah Bread. 8th Grade Students prepared shaped breads from a Country White Bread dough recipe. The braids and shapes turned out beautifully - of course we exclusively use Hudson Cream Flour! A big challenge in preparing any type of yeast bread is scheduling the 51 minute class periods throughout the week to end up with a product by Friday.
