Thanks to the South Central Community Foundation for supplying $1000 to Stafford's Art room. They provided us with new supplies to enjoy such as do-a-dot markers and Mr. Sketch smelly markers, and weaving boards. They funded a new colorful rug for our little ones to sit on and a wonderful bookshelf that helps students locate drawing books, reading books, coloring books, weaving supplies, games, etc. We enjoy how fun and open our art room looks!
A HUGE Thank You to Golden Belt Beef for sponsoring the beef for Stafford High School's 2024 State ProStart Culinary Competition team! Golden Belt has provided the team with filet mignon steak for practice purposes and the final competition.
The 2024 ProStart Team includes Seniors Kirstin Langley, Katelyn McCloskey, Anna Alpers, Jimi Oleson, and Junior Brock Downing. The team will compete at the State competition on March 20th against 21 other schools from around the State. Students are judged on product check-in, safety and sanitation, knife skills, organization, communication, and the complexity, cohesiveness, and quality of the meal prepared. Students are challenged to produce a three-course gourmet meal using only two butane camp-style burners, no electricity, and no running water (water is available for cooking before time starts and for hand washing purposes). The menu developed by students this year has an Italian theme including Arancini, Garlic-Thyme crusted Filet Mignon, Sauteed Summer Vegetables, freshly prepared Fettuccini, Alfredo Sauce, and a Lemon-Raspberry Polenta Cake with Mascarpone Whipped Cream.
