Local Officer Dakoda Davisson Takes a Spin on the Pottery Wheel! Who knew a police officer had such an artistic side? Meet Officer Dakoda Davisson, who not only serves and protects, but also shares his incredible skills as a potter in the community! Dakoda gave us a live demonstration of two unique pottery techniques while throwing on the wheel. With each step, he meticulously explained the process, making sure every student followed along like pros. Dakoda started with a solid chunk of clay, centering it on the wheel to create a perfectly symmetrical base. He guided the students through the steps—wetting the clay, applying just the right amount of pressure, and slowly forming the bowl’s shape. The rhythm of his hands, the wheel spinning under his command, made it look effortless. His detailed explanations and calm demeanor made it easy for students to follow along. It’s inspiring to see someone in a uniform teaching skills that allow creativity to shine. Officer Dakoda is proving that no matter your job, there’s always room for a little art!
